Teen dating violence prevention: Cluster-randomized trial of Teen Choices, an online, stage-based program for healthy, nonviolent relationships.

Summary: Twenty high schools in Rhode Island were chosen to participate in the study.  A total of 2,000 students participated in the intervention and a total of 1,901 participated in the control group.  The intervention group participated in an online teen dating violence prevention program entitled, Teen Choices.  The lessons included text, images, video, and audio.  The lessons were also tailored specifically to each user based on their pretest responses.

Logic models as a tool for sexual violence prevention program development

Sexual violence is a growing public health problem, and there is an urgent need to develop sexual violence prevention programs. Logic models have emerged as a vital tool in program development. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funded an empowerment evaluation designed to work with programs focused on the prevention of first-time male perpetration of sexual violence, and it included as one of its goals, the development of program logic models.

A mixed-gender date rape prevention intervention targeting freshmen college athletes.

This paper describes the evaluation of a mixed-gender workshop given to all freshman athletes from a large eastern university. A randomized post-test only experimental design was used to compare the date rape attitudes of freshman athletes who were exposed to a mixed-gender date rape workshop (n=56) with those of athletes who were not exposed (n=85). A previously validated instrument, the 25 item Date Rape Attitudes Survey (DRAS) was used as the criterion measure.
