Intimate partner violence among sexual minority populations: A critical review of the literature and agenda for future research.

Summary: 96 empirical articles that addressed interpersonal violence prevention and Lesbian, Gay, and Bi-sexual (LGB) persons were reviewed.  The articles were published between 1999 to 2015 were analyzed with the aim of assessing what research gaps exist regarding this population.  The authors found through their review that sexual Intimate Partner Violence often co-occurs with other forms of violence.  The review also found that IPV in the LGB population: is often chronic rather than isolated, IPV often occurs in the first year of the relationship, it victimization and vi
