Mission & Agency Overview
To cultivate positive social change by uniting schools, families and communities through STAND & SERVE, an asset-based, peer-facilitated, program fostering peace, respect, empathy and ownership of the solution. At the heart of all activities is ending sexual violence.
Peer Solutions is an Arizona-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1996 to cultivate positive social change by promoting respect and actively addressing the underlying causes of harmful behaviors.
We are all Peers, We are all the Solution. We believe it takes everyone to end sexual violence. It is our Vision that we will internalize respect in thought, reflect it in action, and spread it to others, resulting in an increase of peace in our hearts, homes, schools, workplaces and communities.
STAND & SERVE (S&S) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the issue of primary prevention of sexual violence. We actively endorse involving schools, family and community members to help change social norms. Peer Solutions concepts are simple: to cultivate safety, equality and respect as social norms to prevent sexual violence before it begins. S&S works to empower everyone on a societal, community, relationship and individual level to create a world free from sexual violence. Activities include: 1) weekly school S&S activities at lunch, after school and during the summer, both on and off campus, 2) monthly S&S Community Coalition Initiative (SSCCI) meetings, outreach and on-going service projects, and 3) ongoing policy work at a community level.
S&S members understand and are dedicated to primary prevention strategies that promote positive social change while eliminating the underlying conditions of sexual violence. “The S&S mission isn’t something that leaves you when you leave the club. It is a permanent mindset of social responsibility that stays with you for life,” stated by an S&S member (4/2010 who joined S&S in 9th grade and is now 25).
